SAT詞匯運(yùn)用比掌握更重要

掌握上萬(wàn)的詞匯量對(duì)于大家來(lái)說(shuō)并不是件容易的事，只是背誦下來(lái)還遠(yuǎn)遠(yuǎn)不夠，難點(diǎn)在于如何運(yùn)用到SAT寫(xiě)作中。詞匯的組合和應(yīng)用是寫(xiě)作的基礎(chǔ)，也是影響寫(xiě)作成績(jī)的最大因素，我們來(lái)總結(jié)一下如何恰當(dāng)?shù)倪\(yùn)用這些詞匯吧

首先，要使用能夠準(zhǔn)確表達(dá)意思的難詞(big words)

　　在SAT寫(xiě)作中，使用難詞比使用較容易的同義詞更能給閱卷者留下深刻印象。有人可能會(huì)反駁：偉大的作家都傾向于使用簡(jiǎn)單的語(yǔ)言。沒(méi)錯(cuò)，但笨蛋也通常如此，須知SAT閱讀者面對(duì)堆積如山的essays根本沒(méi)有時(shí)間在兩者之間去做甄別。盡管能精確表達(dá)你意思的詞匯才是最好的詞匯，但難詞更容易打動(dòng)SAT寫(xiě)作也是事實(shí)。不要做的過(guò)火，否則看起來(lái)像是刻意打動(dòng)閱卷者就不好了，只需要在作文中點(diǎn)綴至少幾個(gè)big words以使你的觀點(diǎn)看起來(lái)更可信就可以了。

其次，要避免使用個(gè)人陳述式的短語(yǔ)及過(guò)多的強(qiáng)調(diào)性副詞

　　諸如i feel、i think、i believe之類(lèi)的短語(yǔ)是不必要的(除非已知事實(shí)是：你在表達(dá)自己的觀點(diǎn))，因?yàn)闀?huì)使文章不夠生動(dòng)，也不夠客觀。建議大家在敘述論點(diǎn)的時(shí)候，多用一些感情色彩比較中性的詞匯更好一些。

　　例如：i believe that every truly new idea looks crazy at first.可以改寫(xiě)成：every truly new idea lookscrazy at first.

　　省略那些謙遜的個(gè)人陳述式限定詞，而信心滿(mǎn)滿(mǎn)的述之筆端，你的言辭將大大具有信服度。

　　退一步說(shuō)，即使SAT作文的題目明確要求你寫(xiě)一下你個(gè)人的經(jīng)歷，在這種情況下你也應(yīng)該把自己放在所經(jīng)歷事件的相關(guān)人物背景中去陳述。

　　另外一個(gè)通病就是，很多學(xué)生喜歡使用下列強(qiáng)調(diào)性副詞以使內(nèi)容更信服：a lot，definitely，especially，extremely，greatly，terribly，really，very。這些副詞幾乎是不必要的，用的太頻繁就成了作文膚淺的標(biāo)志，在你的essay中出現(xiàn)一兩個(gè)這樣的副詞是可以的，但請(qǐng)不要超過(guò)兩個(gè)。

下面為大家整理了一些SAT寫(xiě)作中經(jīng)常會(huì)用到的詞匯：

　　1.認(rèn)為：maintain, assert, conclude, deem, hold, insist, argue, be firmlyconvinced, be fully convinced

　　2.宣稱(chēng)：allege, assert, declare, claim

　　3.重要的：key, crucial, critical, vital, substantial,indispensable, imperative

　　4.導(dǎo)致：lead to, bring about, result in, cause, spark off, conduce to, procure,induce, generate

　　5.因此：therefore, thus, hence, consequently, as a consequence, accordingly, asa result

　　6.影響：influence, impact, effect

　　7.展示：reveal, illustrate, demonstrate, depict, present, represent

　　8.優(yōu)勢(shì)：merit, virtue, benefit, upside, strength

　　9.缺陷：demerit, drawback, downside, weakness

　　10.解決：deal with, cope with, handle, resolve, address, tackle

　　11.損害：damage, hurt, injure, harm, impair, undermine, jeopardize

　　12.事實(shí)上：practically, in practice, essentially, in essence, inreality, in effect, in fact, as a matter of fact, it is a fact that

　　13.換言之：namely, that is to say, in other words, to put it likethis, to put it differently, to put it from another way, to put it from anotherangle

　　14.給與：offer, render, impart, provide, supply, afford

　　15.培養(yǎng)：develop, cultivate, foster

　　16.使迷惑：puzzle, bewilder, perplex, baffle

　　17.保護(hù)：protect, conserve, preserve

　　18.確保：assure, ensure, guarantee, pledge

　　19.明顯的：clear, obvious, evident, self-evident, manifest,apparent, crystal-clear

　　20.占：comprise, take up, account for, constitute, consist of, make up, occupy,hold, compose

　　21.對(duì)比而言：by contrast, in contrast, on the other hand, on thecontrary, conversely

　　22.大約：approximately, about, around, roughly

　　23.有益的：useful, helpful, beneficial, profitable, rewarding,advantageous

　　27.發(fā)展：development, advance, progress

　　28.要求：request, demand, needs, requisition

　　29.消除：eliminate, clear, remove, clear up, take away, smoothaway

　　30.巨大地：dramatically, drastically, enormously, steeply,substantially, considerably, markedly, strikingly, radically, remarkably,vastly, noticeably
